1/2 way home!!!!

So we're back in California now thank goodness! We were a little concerned about if we would make it or not. We left at about 7:30 pm and headed for california. Our first gas stop we checked the oil and there was something really weird going on... there was oil all over the back end of our car and it was splattered all inside the engine compartment. We saw that ther was a hose that was attatched like it should be so stuart reattatched it and we thought everything was fixed. Next stop, checked it again and there was more oil splattered all over the place again. uh oh! well we kept checking the oil every fill up and adding when necessary. We still don't know whats wrong but at least we're not stuck out in the hot desert in a car with no AC! We are very grateful to be back safe in california where we get a week to spend with family and friends before going back home to Hawaii!!!

PS... california drivers (especially LA) are CRAZY!!!! we started to hit some traffic coming down some hill getting into LA area and people are just flying down tailing people so close and changing lanes left and right. I was extremely nervous and don't ever want to have to drive in crazy california if I can avoid it at all. SLOW DOWN PEOPLE!!!! You'll live longer!

Sorry no pictures yet... but we got ourselves a super cool camera for our anniversary and its at dad's house so when we get back to hawaii i'll be able to do some super cool posts! get excited!!!

The New Doo!

Yes Its true... we dyed our hair and here's the proof. Actually let me tell you the little story behind it. I decided I wanted to dye my hair black, so we went to walmart and picked up a box of the cheapest hair dye on the shelf and went home to do my hair. Sorry Don't have very good before pictures... stuart decided we should take one so he grabbed the camera as I was mixing the dye, and just snapped a couple. There's the weird ones he tried without the flash so you could see the real color but that didn't work too well.

So you can see a little bit of the color that it use to be. We went ahead and started to get my hair all saturated with the dye... but we were quickly running out and my hair wasn't completely covered ( i guess the last time I dyed my hair it was a lot shorter!) I think it would have been ok but just in case... Stuart said he would run back to walmart real quick and get another box, such a good husband huh? He ran across the street and got another one, returned home and we quickly mixed it up and continued to cover my hair. I didn't need all of it and Stuart said "Hey look their's enough left for me (I think he did that on purpose). I was a little hesitant but finally gave in and dyed his hair for him. And turns out... I love it! It really brings out his beautiful blue eyes that I love! So here's the proof! Hope you like it!!!

Sorry you can't really see Stuart's hair that good because it blends in with the background... but thats how you know its black! You know how self portraits go. Hope you like it... let us know what you think!

The Bar-D

So while we were there, it was Mitch's Birthday and for his birthday, we got to go to The Bar-D for Dinner and a Show! It was Awesome!!! So we got there and had a little time before the whole thing started so we got to Take a little train ride. This was fun and the girls loved it... that is Nani and Lala Loved it... Kawena loved the ticket that we were supposed to give to the ticket collector (he didn't get hers) he chewing on that ticket was the only thing to stop her from crying, so as long as she had that ticket she was fine!

Since we were frist in line, Nani got the best seat on the train... The one where you get to ring the bell... the entire ride! And she was quite good at it! She even let Lala take a turn at ringing the bell.
Here's Kawena like I said... chewing on that golden ticket! You can even see a leftover tear. And she's still soooo adorable! As for me, I used this time for a perfect excuse to play with Mahina's Camera some more!

SAY CHEEZE!!!!

So much fun and that was even before Dinner and the Show!!! Keep in mind Stuart and I didn't really know what to expect here... So we go in and we get right to it! You go through this line where you pick up a metal plate, and they fill it up with food for you! All you have to do is hold your pate out and decide whether you want chicken or beef. There were quite a few people there and you would think it would take forever to get everyone their food but they have the system down!!! We were in and out of that line before we knew it and eating the yummy yummy food!

So we had BBQ Beef, Beans, a baked potato, biscuit, apple sauce and a piece of spice cake! looks good huh? So the tables were all under the open sky and we had the beautiful mountains as a backdrop. It was amazing! Too bad the weather wasn't cooperating, and decided to rain so they had to cover up the starry sky with a covering for everyone, but it was still awesome! I even cleared my plate!

So after we finished dinner the show began! It was great (This picture is not... sorry about that). So there were five guys up there singing and playin for us! They were pretty funny and really entertaining!
Lala seemed to enjoy it! Or maybe it was her cute new sweatshirt that she was wearing....

But Kawena sure seemed to enjoy it!!!
Stuart and were able to just sit back, relax and enjoy the show...
Kawena may have enjoyed the show a little too much, so when I held her, I guess she got worn out from so much fun and she fell asleep in my arms. Awww so cute!It was great fun! Any time we're in Durango Colorado from now on I think we'll be visiting the Bar-D! Don't really know when we'll get back there though.

Post 1 of a much needed Vacation!!!

It was so wonderful to be able to take a little vacation with Mitch Mahina and the Girls! I was so looking forward to it. Originally I was supposed to go and leave Stuart behind cuz he had to work... somebody's gotta pay the bills right?? So we decided that when Mahina came down to pick me up, we would go have lunch with stuart before we left. We were having such a nice little lunch at Macaroni Grill (yum yum!) while stuart was sitting there talking about how much he wanted to come with us! At the end of lunch he announced "Thats it, I'm coming with you guys!" So he did! And it was great! We went up to Durango Colorado to Mitch's Grandma's Cabin. No cell phone reception, no internet... NO WORK!!! it was great! We were able to spend so much time with the Mason's it was great! Those 3 little girls are sooo funny! And so sweet!

So while we were there, we were able to do some fun stuff! We went on a nice little hike! Something easy enough for the girls, not too strenuous! We hiked/walked up along a little creek. and there were all these rocks around that Lala discovered were soooo fun to pick up throw into the water! She started with the little ones and then found that the bigger ones were much more fun because they made such a bigger splash!!! Towards the end... she was picking up rocks that had to weigh just as much as she did! She's a strong girl that one! I had to get this picture of Lala picking up one of those huge rocks... the funny thing was her little panties stickin out! Too bad they matched her pants so well!

So while Lala found a new hobby, the rest of us took a break, sat in the shade and had a snack! Some water and a granola Bar! Perfect. Some of us, (Mahina and I) decided to play photographer. I have a little point and shoot camera while Mahina has the nice big one with the Different lenses and all that jazz. I tricked her into trading cameras for a bit so I could have some fun. Too bad I don't have those pictures though! I guess you'll just have to see them on her Blog!
Sorry.... I'm still gettin used to this blogging this and the pictures aren't really going where I want them to go.... and then, even if I do get them to where I want them, once I post it, it looks completely different anyways! Mahina I need Help!!!

So the water was nice and the company was good. It was nice that the boys got to hang out a little bit, and get to know each other a little bit more. I'm always telling Stuart that Mitch is funny and he wants me to explain... but there's really no way to do that. You just have to hang around him a little bit and then you understand! So our little snack break, we decided to head back down the treacherous trail. Since Nani and Lala were having so much fun throwing rocks, we thought it'd be a good idea to go down to the lake and throw some more rocks! Teach the girls how to skip them, and the boys could have a furthest rock throwing contest... we won't say who won. But it was fun and Mahina and I were happy to be able to take more pictures! (Again... I was more interested in Mahina's camera and took more with that one) Also, I didn't have a lot of memory on my camera, or anywhere to unload pictures so there were limited pictures...

This one is of Nani down by the Lake. I thought it was a cute one!

Both Nani and Lala found Flowers that they gave to Stuart and I... such sweet girls!

So the moral of the story is... we had a lot of fun on this little day trip to the creek and the Lake!

And they lived Happily Ever After!

THE END.... Just Kidding....

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!!!
