Thoughts on a Thursday

So it turns out that I'm not crazy and not just a baby about the pain that I have had in my wrist since the bus accident! I actually fractured it... not fun but at least now I know why its in pain.

ps... I am not a huge fan of insurance policies and how slow and kniving they are at times. You always have to get approval from someone for any little thing you need to get done and they always "lose" the paperwork and take forever in letting you know if it was approved or not. I hear they do that just so people will give up and then insurance won't have to pay.

Its been 4 months since the accident and I just found out today that I fractured my wrist... how messed up is that?!

Oh the Memories!!!

Mahina did a "Memories" post so I thought I would do one too. anyway, this is how the game works...

as a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and i had together. it doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. it's actually pretty funny to see the responses. if you leave a memory about me, i'll assume you're playing the game and i'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

so, come along with me and take a walk down memory lane... let's see where it takes us!

MAUI

So we took the superferry to Maui this last week for our vacation away from Oahu. Since you can take anything that fits in your car we decided to bring a bunch of toys. This is our truck AKA "tank" the night before we boarded the ferry. Under the car cover there is a moped, surfboard, 14ft zodiac and mounted on the tailgate is the 40 hp boat engine. when the cover was off the stuff it looked like tank was amphibious ready to take on the channel to Maui on his own. We are both very proud that tank made the entire trip with out complaining ( breaking down ) about all the excess weight he was lugging around.

This is the wake behind the ferry with the Waianae mountains (west oahu) fading in the distance. The ferry can reach speeds over 60mph. it felt super fast for such a massive ship.
Honolulu town, oahu.
this is the view from the house we stayed at in KIHEI , Maui. So while we were in Maui, there was a small craft advisory becasue of a low pressure system stirring up 50 MPH winds. We went on a lot of hikes on the south side to escape the east wind. After one particular hike through about two miles of lava fields Malia And I were ready to head back to the car. just as we were about to head back one of the guys in our group found a hidden tide pool. we cruised around the little pool that was being feed by sloshing waves up the cliff. shell fish cling to the black rock and sharp sea urchins were spread through out the bottom of the blue pool. Malia took a small stone and gently broke off one of the shell fish (opihi) ripped out the meat, cleaned off the poo and at it!!! she was all smiles as she devoured the local delicacy. We also got free scuba lessons from our new friend Paul Javier,(freelance Photographer/realator/scuba instructor) he said we were both naturals.
The cutest assistant coach alive...
So she looks a bit tired but that because she played entire games with out subbing. I'm so proud of my athlete wife.

We'll be back...

We're heading over to Maui super early tomorrow morning! Its gonna be a pretty fun trip... so don't expect any posts through the rest of this week. I'm sure there is internet access somewhere but I plan on being extremely busy with water polo (i'll be coaching the girls and then playing for 2 teams) and any free time I plan on having way too much fun to stop and blog!

One of Stuart's teammates has a zodiac that we deflated and threw in the back of tank to take, along with a jet ski that he is taking over as well! There is a free day without any games before the tournament ends so we're planning on going over to Molokini! You may recognize the half moon lookin island:

Ahh... so beautiful! I can't wait to be there in real life!

Have a wonderful week!!!

You may have heard...

... as I have heard that there's no good mexican food in Hawaii. That my friends is definitely false. The other night Stuart and I went back to El Mariachi in Kaneohe, a little Mexican restaurant that we first went to six month ago for Valentines day with some friends. This place is so tasty! and has a super cool atmosphere! We were able to sit there and talk to the cooks and ask their favorites right from our table! They were awesome! But yeah... there is good mexican food here, and its in Kaneohe! I got the pork Sopes that were out of this world and Stuart got the Steak and cheese Chile Rellano! Check it out on Kam Hwy past Windward Mall if your going towards the Pali.

Whats Wrong with this Picture?

I mean besides the fact that this cupboard is pretty disorganized....

Lets take a closer look:

Maybe a little closer:

Those aren't supposed to be there are they?!

In recent months I have gotten used to looking for our keys in specific "random" places... places like: up on the shelf on Stuart's side of the closet or on top of the fridge... I know I know, you hear about all sorts of women misplacing their keys only to find them inside the freezer. I dont have that problem, never once have my keys ended up in the freezer. However, whenever I find the keys missing from the hook by the door or the table right next to it, I have to search and search... especially when Stuart isn't home (He's the one who puts them in funny places).

So today when I was ready to walk out the door and the keys were nowhere in sight, I first looked in the closet, then on top of the fridge, then on both tables. Our apartment is only so big, and there are only so many places they could be. I decided I would just walk (yes thats good for me but when you plan out your travel and it doesn't include walking, you tend to be late).

After returning home, I was cleaning up around the kitchen and putting some canned food away in the cupboard when I found them! So I guess there are a few more places keys can end up than I thought!

Oakley...

For the past weeks I have been trying to exercise a lot and eat better than I had gotten in the habit of. Stuart and I had set goals and made a big poster to track my progress. We also made incentives for me if I reached the different goals set. One of those incentives was a new suit. I have been in desperate need of a new swimming suit... especially since I am swimming almost everyday for exercise! This is what I got and I just love them!!!

This is my absolute favorite!!! I just love the cute little fishies on the belly (we named the lower one Oakley... and still taking suggestions for the one above him)! And it is such a pretty color!

There's a website called swimoutlet.com where you can get suits for pretty cheap! And there are so many options! So if you're in the market for a new suit you should definitely check it out!!!

Can you say Hooked?

twilightI just finished reading twilight this morning... can you say hooked? I had been hearing good things about this book or the whole series and decided I'd give it a try. When you hear what the book is about... it sounds pretty ridiculous, but actually it's a really easy read and quite enjoyable!

The story of a teenage girl who moves to a new town and falls in love with a vampire... ridiculous right? I know, but a page turner none the less!

If you want to read something for fun (and you're a girl... I don't think any boys would like it) find a copy of twilight. You'd be surprised at how many people are reading it and have copies of all 3 books out!

newmoon

I just got a hold of a copy of the 2nd book "new moon" and will be starting it as soon as i'm done with this post!

Awww yes... Bella and Edward!

Happy Birthday Gavan!!!

Today is my big brother's Birthday! Gavan I hope its the best ever! I hope you got to go surf and got barreled like crazy! Here's a picture of Gavan... isn't he cool?!

Gavan's a big kid and so fun! He may have given me my first experience surfing... we were in the water when a wave came and he said "just duck under and i'll hold the board" next thing i felt was the board smacking me in the head! I can laugh now but I don't think I thought it was very funny at the time! I don't remember any more of that surf session... but i'm sure it was fun!

Gavan is always calling me on his way home from work! I love that I get to talk to him every once in a while because he gets off work kinda late and has an hour drive home. And since we are 3 hours behind... he knows I won't ever be asleep when he calls!

And of course one of my favorite memories of Gavan is when he would babysit Kawika and I and we would have our wrestling/pillowfights in mom and dads room! Kawika was Mad-Man Beek, I was Meekies-Eekies-Lie-Lie (I don't know where Gavan came up with that?!) and Gavan was Andre the Giant! We had so much fun!

And here's a picture of me and Gavan almost a year ago. Love you Big Bro!

"Smoke on the water and fire in the sky" Deep Purple

Wow yesterday was a busy day! I was out of the house from 9am until 11:15pm! It started with a water polo fundraiser where we were selling shirts for the Waiamea Bay Lifeguards. We were there all day while there was a paddle board race going on and the coolest little Keiki (kid) challenge! We made some good money going towards our Maui trip! It was a long day and I was ready to crash but had to go straight in to work for a couple hours. I had to work right up until the fireworks were gonna be going off so we ran over to turtle bay so we could catch the show!

It was the coolest ever! They were shooting them off so you could see them great from the water so thats where we decided to set up! We parked outside of turtle bay on the road and ran in as fast as we could and paddled out!

Thats me running...

Just as we were paddling out they started to fire them off!

We brought our water camera with us... but obviously you can't really take pictures of fireworks when your in the water! It just doesn't work! But thats a blurry picture of me out in the water with the fireworks behind me in the air and reflecting off the water! It was soo beautiful!

It was 2 parts a little freaky and 8 parts the coolest thing ever! It was hard to see the waves coming so I got blasted once and who knows whats out there in the dark. There were a bunch of other people out there also so that made me feel a little better... I figured if a shark came they would go after the floaty raft before me! Haha!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

Oops!

I missed a day...

I think i'll add a new rule to this goal of mine, and I can do it because it's my goal. So if I miss a day, I don't have to start over, it just adds another day to the 31 days... so now its 32 days. Either way, you guys are getting more posts to read more regularly. Do you guys like that? Comment if you do!

Bubbly Toes

So I've completed the first step in number 37! now I just have to see if i'll be able to follow through with step 2!

Unpainted toes are so boring...

I love it when my toes are painted! it makes me feel so much prettier... is that weird? I guess I dont feel prettier but my feet look so much cuter! Ever since last summer I always paint my toenails the same color... purple with sparkles! I know what youre thinking... "what, are you 12 years old?" Think what you like but I still love sparkly purple toenails!
